The Welsh composer, Karl Jenkins, completed “The Armed man: A Mass For Peace” in 2000, dedicating it to the victims of the war in Kosovo. The title of this composition for choir and orchestra is taken from the famous mediaeval melody 'L’homme armé', on which the first and last pieces in the Mass are based.
